Guido Pietropoli è nato il 19 settembre 1945 a Rovigo (Italia). Ha frequentato la Facoltà di Architettura all’Università di Venezia tra il 1964 e il 1970, anno nel quale ha conseguito la laurea a pieni voti con lode, relatore il Prof. Carlo Scarpa. Ha lavorato nell’atelier di Le Corbusier, aperto a Venezia per lo studio del progetto del nuovo Ospedale e diretto dall’Arch. Jullian de la Fuente.
Nel 1972 ha aperto uno studio professionale a Monselice (Padova) e ha iniziato a collaborare ad alcuni progetti di Carlo Scarpa, dei quali ha seguito il completamento dopo la morte del grande architetto nel 1978. Tra il 1972 e il 1976 è stato assistente di Carlo Scarpa nel Corso di Composizione Architettonica all’Istituto Universitario di Architettura di Venezia.
Dal 1977 al 1979 è stato docente di Elementi di Disegno Industriale alla Scuola d’Arte e Mestieri di Vicenza. Nel 1980 apre un nuovo studio professionale a Rovigo, in collaborazione con l’architetto giapponese Theruisha Ito. Nel biennio 1981-1982 è Direttore della Scuola d’Arte e Mestieri di Vicenza. Dal 1989 al 1994 ha progetta componenti per l’edilizia per conto della società giapponese YKK (Kanda, Izumi-Cho, Chiyoda-Ku-Tokyo). Negli anni ‘90 ha realizzato progetti di edilizia residenziale e ristrutturazioni di importanti edifici quali ad esempio l’ex zuccherificio di Rovigo, recuperato ad uso Fiera, Centro Congressi e Università. Dall’inizio del 2000 è affiancato nell’attività professionale dal figlio Martino, laureato in architettura a Ferrara con pieni voti con relatore l’arch. Massimo Carmassi.
Guido Pietropoli was born on September 19, 1945 in Rovigo, Italy. He attends the Architectural Institute of Venice University between 1964 and 1970, when he graduates, full marks and credit, with Prof. Carlo Scarpa.
He then works in the studio of Le Corbusier for the new hospital in Venice with Architect Jullian de la Fuente.
He starts to work as a professional architect in 1972, opening a studio in Monselice, Padova, and collaborating on projects with Prof. Carlo Scarpa.
Between 1972 and 1976 he is an assistant lecturer on Educational activities on Prof. Carlo Scarpa’s Architectural Planning Courses at the Architectural Institute of Venice University.
From 1977 to 1979 he is professor of Elements of Industrial Design at the School of Arts and Crafts, Vicenza.
In 1980 he opens a new professional studio in Rovigo in collaboration with the Japanese Architect Theruisha Ito. At the same time he is Director of the School of Arts and Crafts in Vicenza between 1981 and 1982.
From 1989 to 1994 he designs buildings components on behalf of the Japanese Company YKK ( Kanda, Izumi-Cho, Chiyoda-Ku-Tokyo). During the 90’s he works on several projects of private houses, factories and the restructuring of a former sugar factory and its conversion into convention center and university.From the beginning of year 2000 his son Martino, who took an architecture degree in Ferrara with Massimo Carmassi, works with him.
